For leadership teams

A complimentary AI Diagnostic, based on a 30 to 45 minute call with your leadership team.

A member of our senior team works through the Integrated AI Framework for your business at a high level. The findings are presented in a short follow-up session, at no cost and with no obligation beyond it.

What it covers

How exposed the business is to AI, and where its largest opportunities sit.

The areas cover both the industry the business competes in and the work done inside it, in as much detail as a single call allows.

01

Industry Position

Where AI is likely to move profit in the industry, through better propositions, cheaper search or new services and entrants, and how exposed the business’s position is.

02

Opportunities by Function

The functions where AI could save the most time or add the most revenue, from customer service and finance to sales and marketing, and where to start.

03

Quick Wins

Two or three workflows suited to a measured pilot, where the likely benefit is high and implementation is straightforward.

04

Critical Follow-up Questions

The strategic issues the leadership team may want to explore further, such as which of the industry’s returns AI could erode, or which data gaps to close first.

How it works

What happens between booking the call and hearing the findings.

The diagnostic is complimentary, and the business is under no obligation once the findings are presented. The time asked of the leadership team is the call itself and a short follow-up session.

01

The Call

The leadership team joins a 30 to 45 minute call on Microsoft Teams, at a time booked below. The discussion covers the industry, the business’s position in it and the work of each function.

02

The Analysis

After the call, a member of our senior team uses the Integrated AI Framework and what the leadership team described to prepare findings on each area above.

03

The Follow-up Session

Once the analysis is complete, the leadership team is taken through the findings in a short session.

Who it is for

The leadership teams of mid-market and private equity-backed businesses.

The diagnostic is intended for a leadership team that has heard conflicting accounts of AI and wants to know what it is likely to mean for its own business before committing budget or people. It is equally relevant to a business that has already bought AI tools and is not yet seeing a return in its profit and loss.

The leadership team leaves the follow-up session with a high-level view of how far AI could affect the business’s position in its industry and which functions offer the largest opportunities. It also has a short list of workflows suited to a measured pilot, and of the strategic issues that may merit a closer look. The aim is to give the team enough to decide on a next step, whether that is a first pilot, a fuller assessment or nothing further for now.

Common questions

Questions we are asked.

Who from our business should join the AI Diagnostic call?

The call works best with the chief executive and the heads of the main functions, such as finance, sales and marketing, customer service, technology and HR. The diagnostic looks for opportunities function by function, so the people who know where each team’s time goes are the ones best placed to contribute. A smaller group can still be useful, provided it can speak for the business as a whole.

What should we prepare before the AI Diagnostic call?

The most useful preparation is a shared view, among those attending, of where the business stands. That includes which workflows take the most team time, where customers or competitors already use AI, and where the core customer, product and supplier records are kept. Reading the report beforehand also helps, since the diagnostic applies the framework it sets out.

What does the AI Diagnostic cost, and what happens after the follow-up session?

There is no charge for the AI Diagnostic. It ends with the follow-up session, and any next step is for the leadership team to decide. A business may run a first pilot itself, or ask us to take the critical follow-up questions further through the AI Strategy Assessment or the AI Value Creation Plan, which are separate engagements.

How does the AI Diagnostic relate to the AI Playbook and its framework?

The AI Diagnostic is a high-level version of the analysis set out in The AI Playbook for Mid-Market Leaders, prepared for one business. Its view of industry position draws on the AI Strategy Assessment, and its opportunities and quick wins draw on the AI Value Creation Plan. The full assessment and plan develop those findings in detail.
